Dr. Sydney Vergis has been appointed Deputy Executive Officer of Mobile Sources & Incentives at the California Air Resources Board (CARB).  Previously, Dr. Vergis served as the Chief of the Mobile Source Control Division (MSCD).

In her new role, Dr. Vergis is responsible for overseeing new and emerging air pollution control programs and policies related to mobile emissions sources. She also oversees the incentive programs in the MSCD and Sustainable Transportation and Communities Division.

Dr. Vergis is a graduate of the University of California, Davis where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning, Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and Master of Science and Ph.D. in Transportation Technology and Policy.

She replaces Craig Segall who is now the Vice President of Policy at Evergreen Action.
