Hexagon Agility and Brudeli Green Mobility are teaming up on a new hybrid powertrain collaboration aimed at the Class 7 and 8 North American truck markets. The collaboration will integrate Hexagon Agility’s CNG/RNG systems with Brudeli’s plug-in POWERHYBRID technology to provide fleets with the ability to maintain diesel-like duty cycles while achieving fuel cost savings and meeting decarbonization goals. This innovative solution allows long-haul trucks to operate up to 80% with electric energy and switch between serial and parallel hybrid modes. It also supports clean energy options like renewable natural gas (RNG).
The product is slated to be the first compliant NZEV (near-zero emission vehicle) technology commercially available in the U.S. market that also meets both the Advanced Clean Truck (ACF) and Advanced Clean Fleet (ACT) regulatory requirements. The companies plan to introduce pilot trucks by 2026 with serial production slated for 2028.
