Following President Trump’s signing of resolutions to repeal California’s Advanced Clean Truck and Low NOx Heavy-Duty Omnibus regulations, CRTA President Nicole Rice issued the following statement:
“Today’s federal action to roll back California’s truck mandates does not impede the state’s ability—or opportunity—to deliver on its promise of cleaner air and sustainable transportation alternatives. Achieving these goals requires a pragmatic, durable approach that balances ambition with real-world readiness.
Renewable fuels like renewable natural gas (RNG) are already proving effective in reducing emissions from heavy-duty trucks while improving air quality today. This is a critical moment to reflect on what’s working and to build an inclusive strategy that leverages all available tools—including cleaner combustion technologies that California pioneered as a part of the initial solution. By aligning policy with proven technologies and industry capabilities, we can continue making measurable progress toward a cleaner, affordable, and more resilient transportation future.”
