9.14.26 | CRTA submitted comments on the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) Draft Roadmap to Reduce Air Toxics. While expressing strong support for the agency’s goals of reducing toxic air pollution, lowering exposure to diesel particulate matter, and protecting public health, CRTA urged CARB to adopt a more technology-neutral approach that recognizes the emissions benefits being achieved today by low-NOx trucks operating on renewable natural gas (RNG).
CRTA noted that while zero-emission technologies will play an important role in improving air quality, low-NOx and zero-emission vehicles should be viewed as complementary solutions. Therefore, the Alliance encouraged CARB to acknowledge the measurable air quality benefits of low-NOx technologies in the final Roadmap and to ensure that all effective technologies remain part of California’s strategy for achieving near-term and long-term emissions reductions.
