The California Air Resources Board (CARB) will consider approval of the proposed amendments to the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) on Friday, November 8, 2024 at their Southern California office in Riverside, California. Amidst record-low credit market prices (hovering in the low-to-mid 40s over the past month), stakeholders had hoped a board decision would come this summer.
The original date for considering board approval was March 21, 2024, but that was postponed in February 2024. It is noteworthy that the new vote date has been scheduled for after the November general election.
The board meeting will be held both in-person and virtually. Click here for more details about the November 8th hearing. We still anticipate the release of a 15-day package in response to the additional changes (including to the carbon intensity curve) proposed at the April 10th workshop by CARB staff. Materials related to the April 10th workshop are also available online.
