AB 365 (O’Donnell) Held in Committee

January 20, 2022 – AB 365 (O’Donnell) to provide a five-year partial sales and use tax (SUT) exemption on the purchase of new and used zero and near-zero emission drayage trucks failed approval by the Assembly Appropriations Committee.  The bill advanced with strong support from the Assembly Revenue and Tax Committee just a week ago but was unable to secure the votes needed to move to the the Assembly Floor.

Because the measure was initially introduced during last year’s legislative session, it needed to be approved by the entire Assembly by January 31st. The author still has the option to reintroduce the concept as a new bill before next month’s bill introduction deadline. AB 365 was supported by the Port of Long Beach, the Port of Los Angeles and the Harbor Trucking Association, along with several other organizations, including CNGVC.
